Ja s'ha acabat l'edició d'enguany del "Festival international de la bande dessinée" que té lloc cada any a Angoulême, una petita ciutat francesa, coneguda arreu el món per aquest esdeveniment.

The Bob and Rob show

The Bob & Rob Show, Weekly Lessons from a Yankee and a Brit. We think that is a great combination because you can get exposed to their different accents and vocabulary in an easy and fun way. We must say we really like their style and we are sure that so will you.

English Trailers
English-trailers.com is a really neat site which uses movie trailers as the basis for language activities. Each trailer has a summary, a cloze exercise, notes on key vocabulary and a quiz. There are currently 55 trailers listed, which makes a lot of listening practice. If you create an account (free), you can see even more trailers and save your scores. Highly recommended.

True Tales of American Life, an anthology of stories edited by Paul Auster

It's a collection of brief true-life tales written by ordinary Americans. Auster launched a radio program to read out the tales of the people to the people. Citizens from all walks of life were encouraged to send in tales on any subject, so long as they were true. He was immediately swamped by the response, and used the best letters to make this book.

Some of these stories will make you laugh, some will touch your heart, some will make you cry and some will bore you senseless. It’s a lucky dip. But with each story only taking a minute to read you will never feel you've wasted your time.

So if you’re bored of the usual, and want to try something entertainingly human get yourself a copy.
